TGA Subcool's The Dank

TGA Subcool Seeds was established in 2001 by a group of medical growers fed up with corporate influence in the cannabis industry. Their mission was simple: breed powerful, therapeutic strains using transparent, community-driven data. This open-source approach set them apart, and by 2005, they’d become a recognised seedbank. Their focus on sativa-dominant hybrids designed to target pain, anxiety, nausea, and other medical needs helped build a loyal global following.

After a house fire in 2017 destroyed much of the original seed stock, founder Subcool (Montgomery Ball) rebranded the company as Subcool’s The Dank. This new chapter allowed him to preserve and rebuild the iconic TGA strain library while introducing fresh genetics under the same principles of quality, transparency, and medicinal intent.

The Dank's catalogue includes legends like Vortex, winner of the 2011 High Times California Medical Cup, and Jack the Ripper, which has reached THC levels as high as 26%. Every release is rigorously tested, with fun, uplifting strain names that hint at their cosmic effects. Overgrow proudly stocks both original TGA genetics and current offerings from Subcool’s The Dank, keeping the founder’s legacy alive for the next generation of conscious cannabis growers.

Genetics
BOG’S Sour Strawberry X Space Queen
One of Subcool’s collaborative strains, crossing BOG’s Sour Strawberry with their very own Space Queen, resulting in a 65% sativa hybrid. Out-of-this-world sour fruit flavour fills the ridiculous amount of gooey trichomes, making Zinger an excellent extraction choice. And the effect? Try find a better strain for a "try not to smile" challenge.

Hearty growth means these marijuana plants grow big and tall.

Zinger delivers high yields of thick, heavily frosted flowers – ideal for extractions – in arounds 60-days of flowering indoors.

No, it’s taste does not reflect the spicy burger made by the famous chicken brand. It’s so much better – super tangy fruitiness reminiscent of sour cherry and strawberry.

Extreme upliftment combined with uncontrollable giggles make Zinger probably not something you want to indulge in before a big meeting or job interview.

These plants grow vigorously. Indoors or outdoors, don’t be afraid to top Zinger early on (even twice) and allow enough vegetative growth to provide an optimal foundation for huge yields. Remove the pesky males when their pollen sacks display during pre-flowering, or your precious flowers will become riddled with seeds.
